I started beading 8 years ago, after going to work for a company that promoted bead shows (Intergalactic Bead Shows). When I first started my job with Intergalactic, I remember thinking "Beads - I don't know how steady of a job this will be, but I'll give it a shot!" BOY WAS I AMAZED AT WHAT I FOUND!!!

The history of beads dates as far back as 40,000 years with the advent of modern people. Guess that's pretty good as far as being "steady"! Did you know Columbus' first trade with the people of the Americas was done with the use of red hats and string beads to gain the confidence and admiration of the indigenous people?

And of course, what girl doesn't LOVE jewelry? Needless to say I became addicted to beading pretty quickly. Here I am 8 years later, still working for a local company that sells beads and promotes bead shows (Jane's Fiber and Beads). (Intergalactic changed owners and moved out of town, so I had to find another place to get my bead fix!!!)

Each piece of beadwork pictured in my gallery is handcrafted, some are patterns I have designed, others are from published bead patterns from books and other designers, and are all pieces of my personal collection.
